So, just to give you an idea of Adrienne and Sean’s awesome sense of humor and incredible Photoshop skills (not to mention the sheer amount of spare time on their hands), here’s an image that they posted shortly after their engagement session:
“Adrienne and I came to the conclusion that If you take her out of our engagement photos I look very sad and lonely… Here is the visual. I call it: Sad Sean in a garden.”
Now, we do kind of explicitly state that people can’t alter our photos, but with a couple like Sean and Adrienne who simultaneously truly respect our work AND are hilarious, it’s totally ok. ๐ Susie and I got a good laugh out of this and looked forward even MORE to a wedding day that was sure to be as fun and interesting as Sean and Adrienne!!!
BUT, as it turns out – the joke had an element of truth to it! When I saw Sean in the grooms suite, I was shocked by how nervous this confident, comfortable, hilarious guy seemed!!! He wasn’t quite Sad Sean, but more… Lost Sean. I reassured him that as soon as he saw Adrienne it would all melt away. I’m happy to report that I was right, and the fun, light-hearted Sean showed up just as soon as he saw his bride!
It is true that EVERY wedding day that ends in a marriage is a perfect wedding day, but Adrienne and Sean were extra lucky – the rain predicted all week did come down, but it held off until minutes after their ceremony ended! Later in the evening, the rain stopped very briefly, almost on cue for their sparkler exit. I’m so glad that these things happened for Sean and Adrienne and so SO glad that we were the ones they chose to photograph the day. I hope these images do justice to their confidence in us!
The dress… extraordinary.
Sean was impressed ๐
See… Happy Sean ๐
Adrienne kept mentioning this amazing tree and I just… I couldn’t find it! I never saw what she was talking about during my site visit, so I even arrived early on the day of the wedding to look. Finally, I just told her – I need you to show me the tree! It was off the beaten path a little, but WOW, was she right or WHAT??? This tree made for the most amazing “secret garden” look. We loved all the images here. One more reminder to always listen to our clients!
The wedding party met us as the Smythe House. This venue is full of amazing spots.
Sean’s sister, Lauren, and her adorable daughter – how cute are they????!
Adrienne wanted to do a first look with her father before the ceremony.ย I loved this moment from both angles.
They were both very emotional, so Susie and I stepped out of the room almost immediately after they saw one another so they could just share whatever words they wanted to share. Dads have a much harder time being on camera for this moment than grooms.
See the storm clouds gathering?! Thunder punctuated the ceremony, but the rain held off.
After an elaborate show by the best man “searching” for the rings, the hawk delivered them ๐
The hawk wasn’t the only bird present… Sean and Adrienne released doves as well.
A couple of pics with the hawk and then….
The skies opened up!!!
The family moved quickly to the porch for family photos, and afterwards, Sean and his dad started messing around a little. It turned out that they studied Jujitsu together and earned their black belts at the same time!! Later, one of Sean’s fraternity brothers shared an awesome story: tradition is to throw all new pledges into a pond after they receive their letters. However, Sean’s self-defense skills were so sharp the whole group of him couldn’t get him in the pond!!!!
Bouquet “caught” by the flower girl and the garter by the ring bearer… a very tasteful touch to the day ๐
Both Adrienne’s sorority and Sean’s fraternity performed for them.
Ten minutes before their departure was scheduled to happen, it was POURING out. Five minutes later, everything cleared for a quick, foggy, sparkly, happy exit. The perfect ending ๐
Congratulations, Sean and Adrienne!!!!

These are amazing! Might be my favorite wedding shoot yet! Great job
Incredible photos, so many favorites!!! The rings in her shoes, the whimsical cake, the looks on the bride and grooms face after getting caught in the rain, the flower girls expression when the bride and groom have their first kiss (or maybe in awe of the birds), the excitement on the ring bearers’ face after he caught the garter…. Very cool idea having it around a football. In your photos you capture so many different emotions; I can feel the love and respect all while hearing the fun
and laughter!!!! Great job ladies!!!!! I can’t wait to hire you for my kids weddings; I hope you haven’t retired by then ๐
The moments you captured for Sean and Adrienne are truly breathtaking! I am so impressed with not only your talent and attention to detail which emanates from your finished work, but also to your professionalism and engaging personalities while working with the bride and groom, their guests, and the entire vendor team. It was an honor working with you!
Great pictures. What wonderful memories they will have looking back at these pictures.
