“Slowly at first, and then all at once.” That’s how James and Sarah’s beautiful relationship began. Their mutual attraction was clear and immediate from Sarah’s very first day of college. It wasn’t for almost another 18 months that James arrived late to a dance where Sarah was another’s date. After he cut in for one dance, they never let go – not for that evening or since. Their relationship has been tested by time – 6 years – and by distance – 4 years have been apart. In that period, it has grown and flourished. I’m elated for Sarah and James as I post these images, because right now James is in the process of moving out to California to live and work where Sarah attends law school!
We had the perfect evening and perfect location for this shoot. James’ uncle owns a farm in Western Maryland. The sun was beginning to set as we began shooting, giving Sarah and James a sundrenched look to complement their joy. After they changed, we moved to the back of the farm. The sun had slipped behind the mountains and the calm, peaceful glow it left behind gave us sweet, intimate portraits of their love. I felt so lucky to meet this couple, spend time on this gorgeous farm full of family memories, and to be part of documenting one more memory. We just can’t wait for this amazing wedding less than one year from now!!!
(p.s. – Kicking off this shoot with one of my favorite engagement photos ever. Pure contentment and happiness in one another’s arms!!!!)
Those are adorable. What a beautiful couple.
These beautiful photographs capture James and Sarah’s love and joy. James’ father and I are delighted for them. The pictures also capture the glory of my brother’s farm.
