Sometimes, all it takes for a wedding day to go well is for a couple to know themselves and what they really want. Lottie and Kyle were spot on with all their decisions, because they knew exactly what they wanted: a fun and celebratory day that embraced their closest family and friends.
First, they decided to do a first look – this was such a great idea for them. Lottie and Kyle are so relaxed, playful, and happy together. One of my favorite photos of the day is when Kyle turned around and saw Lottie. She did this little head tilt that was just so natural and so adorable and I have a feeling she only every does for him. We just saw them relax when they saw one another and the good times really began right then and there!
Second, they scheduled their day so that ALL the formal photos happened before the ceremony. That way, after just a few private moments together post-ceremony, they went in and enjoyed a large chunk of cocktail hour. I loved watching them engage with their guests. One of their friends spoke during the ceremony – kind of a loose take on the traditional Jewish blessings – and he said (paraphrasing), “Lottie and Kyle are the hub. They’re why we’re here and they hold this group of people together.” I could completely understand what he meant when I saw Lottie and Kyle light up around their friends and family.
Finally, Lottie and Kyle created plenty of space for an AMAZING dance party – and then joined in!!! Lottie’s brother organized a flash mob which went on and on and ON… I think 90% of the guests were on the dance floor, and no one wanted to leave!!! The DJ just kept the song going and we kept clicking! So awesome. Even Lottie’s 90+ year old grandmother was surrounded by joyous dancing family and eventually got up and joined the dance floor!
We both feel so lucky to have gotten to know Lottie and Kyle and to have photographed their wedding. Lottie and Kyle, we loved being there!!!! Thank you!!!
