It’s safe to say that we’ve never photographed a more active or adventurous couple than Anna and Karl!!!! They spend every moment of their weekends outdoors. Despite the spectacular light and spacious rooms in Kirkland Manor, Anna wanted ALL of her wedding photos to have a natural background. That worked out just great because the grounds of Kirkland Manor in are equally stunning as the indoors and include an amazing variety of backgrounds.
Our first meeting with Karl and Anna – at their engagement shoot – was a bit of a whirlwind of energy, crazy suggestions, and epic gymnastics shots. I had no idea what to expect for their wedding day. I halfway suspected that wakeboarding may play a part! After spending the day with them, I left last Saturday evening utterly charmed by Karl and Anna. From the respect they showed their grandparents and family during their wedding ceremony, to the gracious way they thanked us over and over again, their sincere hearts were on display for everyone. It was such an honor to be there for all of the hilarity and happiness of their wedding. I so hope you enjoy the story of their day as much as we enjoyed it.
This gorgeous bracelet belonged to Anna’s grandmother.
Every single robe is different – that plus those gorgeous smiles makes this my favorite “girls in their robes” shot EVER!!!!
I was editing these when one of my son’s walked by and said, “Wow, she has a BIG smile – she’s so pretty!” I agree! 🙂
Don’t kill me for posting this, Anna!! The hooks on her dress popped open in the car and I love every single shot of Karl buttoning her back up. Super sweet.
A boat got stuck in low tide right by the dock, which meant we had ONE spot to make this work – this amazing wedding party really worked with me and we got them all in the frame!!
The bride and her sis 🙂
As Anna was walking back in to the house, her dad saw her in her dress for the first time!
Anna and Karl asked their grandparents to share their advice for a long and happy marriage during the ceremony. I have never seen this before, but I wish I saw it at every wedding!! What a beautiful moment.
Anna and Karl didn’t want to be on the dance floor by themselves for even one single second. But we snagged a few photos anyhow 🙂
The perfect day! Congratulations, Anna and Karl!
