5 Unusual Angles to Make Your Photos More Creative - Photo7.
ru Creative use of camera angles is one of the fastest ways to add interest and variety to your photos.
Even if you don't know how to use your camera properly, angles are easy! All you have to do is move your camera up or down to dramatically change the angle of your photo. It doesn't matter what camera or lens you use (you can even use your smartphone), you can always take more creative photos by changing the shooting angle.
Five different views
You have five basic views to choose from. Each one will add a different point of view, giving your photo the mood or feel you want your photo to have.
No. 1 - bird's eye
Maximum camera angle - bird's eye. This is when you stand above the stage and look straight down. This angle is great for looking down and seeing all the details of the scene from above.
The bird's eye view is an unusual angle, because a person in ordinary life rarely looks straight down from above. Any angle outside of your normal day to day experience will make your photography more interesting.
I chose a bird's eye view for this photo of our sleeping baby. By choosing this corner, I was able to look down and frame it with blueberry branches.
The bird's eye angle is great for photographing food, allowing you to see everything on the plate.
#2 - High Angle
The "High Angle" is not as extreme as the previous angle. You just need to be slightly taller than the person or object you are photographing.
Think of a high angle view as a perfectly normal view of the world for most adults. This is especially true for parents who always look down on their children.
Although you often encounter this angle or perspective during the day, it can still be ideal for some of your photographs. A high angle is useful for making your subject appear smaller or more vulnerable and possibly make the viewer appear more dominant.
Here the high angle allowed me to look down at my son and work out some interesting background elements.
Since this is a "little sister" photograph, the high angle makes her look more vulnerable.
No. 3 - face to face
The face to face view is taken at eye level to your subject. This is a very interesting angle and helps establish a personal connection between the person in your photo and the person viewing it.
This is a great angle for some portraits.
When she played enough and got covered in mud during the game, I knew I had to use an attractive face-to-face angle.
I love this exciting prospect.
#4 - Low Angle
For a low angle view, you must be below eye level. As you go lower, you make the subject of your photo appear larger. It can add more than a touch of life to your photos and is great for bringing out the harshness or making things scary or epic.
A low angle is absolutely essential when photographing sharks. This is the only way to see their most frightening feature - their teeth!
This moment exploded with energy as the children ran from the bus stop. The low-angle angle helps bring out the energy of the moment, as well as bringing the buses in the background in line with the kids.
No. 5 - Bug's gaze
Also known as "worm's gaze", this angle sounds exactly like it sounds. You go as low as you can and look straight at your subject.
Again, this is a very unusual angle. You rarely come across this vantage point, so this angle will add an interesting or creative perspective to your photo.
I had to lie down on the ground to take this photo. It turned out to be the perfect angle to capture my son's first serious ascent!
On the playground, it is easy to see the angle of the bug's eyes. Just wait for your kids to start climbing and then look right at them.
One scene - three angles.
It's a great idea to capture more than one angle each time you capture a moment. It will boost your creativity, help you explore new perspectives, and provide you with more angles to tell the story.
The following photos show how I captured the same scene from three different angles.
In this first photo, a higher angle has been used to look down at the stage and see the puddle.
The face-to-face angle is perfect for a messy-faced portrait.
This lower angle makes the moment feel a bit bigger and highlights the excitement she felt after having fun in the muddy puddle.
Beyond Everyday Angles
Knowing and practicing these five angles will help you get out of your trance any time you're not on your toes or when you find your photos are boring or predictable. To bring your photos to life, just choose the most unusual angle. Once you've done that, try at least two more angles and see which one captures the moment the best.

An important element that affects the perception of a photo by readers is angles.
When shooting with a mobile phone, there are some peculiarities that are related to technical specifications. The phone camera has a wider shooting angle, which is why the proportions of the face in photos from different devices (even if the angle is the same) look completely different.
A common mistake novice writers make is to bring the phone's camera too close to their face, which distorts the proportions. Such photos usually look funny, and sometimes even frightening :) The bottom line is that such an angle is far from reality. Instead of conveying the pros and cons of the product, the author may simply push the reader away with a strange or unpleasant photo. Although the problem is quite simple to solve!
In the image above, you can see the difference in facial proportions for photos from different devices, the phone's camera here is close to the face when shooting. The photo below shows the finished shots in the correct angles, where the photo from the mobile phone was taken at a distance a little further from the face, and then cropped in the phone application to the desired size.

Among other things, there are technical nuances of mobile devices that are associated with trends in the production of technology. For example, mobile phones may already have built-in filters, or camera settings are initially designed to make the skin look smoother and the light warmer in the photo. Basic angle errors
Incorrect camera tilt
Incorrect tilt of the phone camera in relation to the face, or vice versa, face to camera is one of the most common mistakes in beauty reviews.
In the example below, you can see a portrait shot (it is needed to show the general image when using the product).
Left photo: The phone's camera is too high and too close to the face. The wide angle of the camera distorts the proportions, and we see a huge forehead, an intense look and a big nose. The lips moved down to the chin, and the chin itself disappeared. Bad luck :)
Photo on the right: the phone's camera was lowered to eye level and further away from the face, and the photo was cropped in the phone application. All facial proportions have become harmonious and pleasing to the eye. Makeup and the image as a whole are clearly visible.
Wrong framing
We buy cosmetics to improve and diversify our lives. This means that cosmetic reviews, in addition to utilitarian benefits, also carry an aesthetic message. This message is easily spoiled by a huge nostril in full screen.

Often girls are passionate about shooting and do not notice how funny their photos turn out.
