When my cousin Emily got engaged, I was secretly hoping she’d reach out to me about photographing her wedding. You see, I started my photography career helping my sister shoot her older brother’s wedding 13 years ago and then photographed her sister’s wedding and then her brother’s wedding. Plus it would give me a great chance to hang out with my extended family again – whom I love! J
Emily and Jordan met through mutual friends years ago and were already great friends by the time they started dating. Of course, I knew what an amazing woman my cousin is, so when Jordan and Emily came over for their engagement session earlier this year, I had to make sure Jordan was the right guy for her – and he definitely is!! Together they’re just such an amazing couple, and I’m glad that Jordan’s joined the family.
Emily and Jordan couldn’t have chosen a better day for their wedding. With an unseasonably cool day, the weather was just PERFECT at 77 degrees! Their wedding is also just a testament to the amazing friends and family they have surrounding them. So much of their wedding was put together with the help of their family and friends. Emily’s dad cut all the wood for the centerpieces in the tables, Emily herself did all the gorgeous calligraphy, Jordan and Emily’s dad put together the backdrop for the reception, her family and friends all helped with the setup/tear down and so many more details were put together with love for this couple. It’s always so wonderful to see a couple start off with the support of so many people who love them!!!
Emily’s mom and sister helped her get ready.
So beautiful!!!!
Also, thanks SO much to Emily’s older brother, Brian, who helped me out during and got some great photos of the groom getting ready, the first look, and candid wedding party photos!
This truck was one that Jordan’s grandfather used to own and used to drive it to work. One of his cousins restored it, and Jordan and Emily used it as their getaway vehicle. We definitely had to include it in the photos!!
I was in love with these bouquets all day long! So pretty and colorful!
Brian took one of my favorite shots of the whole day!
Emily has lots of nieces and nephews and wanted to include them all. 🙂
Jordan loves Legos. No, really. He even has an entire room in his home dedicated to all of his Lego creations. They wanted to incorporate it somehow into the day, and so they put together a Lego table for the kids. It was a big hit and the kids were playing there all evening!
(yes, that’s Jasmine! I couldn’t resist. 😉
Emily and Jordan – Congratulations!!!
