When we walked into Becky’s spacious bridal suite last Saturday, we found her just mildly frazzled. Her long, elegant veil, chosen to match the grandeur of the Washington National Cathedral, was missing. A friend had driven to Becky and Dan’s apartment to search for it, and Becky’s dad was on his way to Baltimore. The two calls came in: neither were able to locate it. Becky had already come to peace with the possibility of this outcome, and took it calmly. I overheard her explaining to her hair and makeup team (one of our faves, Behind the Veil!) that Dan had helped her learn to be calm in these moments. She said the fact that she could handle this unexpected disappointment with perspective was just a testimony to how perfect Dan was for her and how happy she was to be marrying him that day. I LOVED that!!!! And, as it turned out, in a classic Mom move, Becky’s mom saved the day! With the help of Becky’s bridesmaids, she located a bridal shop nearby that had a veil exactly like Becky’s in stock, she bought it right there on the spot. So, by my count, that makes two happy endings to the story of the lost veil!
The rest of the day: flawless. We were honored to be there to witness Dan’s glowing face as he watched Becky and her Dad walk down the aisle of their home church, to meet their friends and family, hear the speeches about Becky and Dan’s generosity and love, the choreographed dance between Becky and her father, and the AMAZING, jaw-dropping, death-defying acrobatics in the traditional Ukrainian dances Dan and his friends performed. We’re so excited to share these and many other moments with you today! Congratulations, Becky and Dan!!! Thank you for having us!!!!!!!
