About Our Rental Process


Our rental department is open! We are taking COVID-19 very seriously, and are prioritizing keeping our loyal customers, as well as our employees, safe and feeling comfortable. Every piece of rental equipment, along with its carrying bag and accessories, is fully sanitized after each return. We are also asking that returns be placed in a cleaning bin, to minimize contact before the cleaning process. In addition to cleaning our rental equipment, we are sanitizing the rental counter every hour and after each interaction. We thank all of you for your patience and understanding at this time, and can’t wait to see you back in the store!

Mike's Camera offers select camera and photography gear available to rent in each of our Colorado and Northern California Markets. We process our rentals out of our Boulder and Sacramento locations. If you are looking to rent at another location please call ahead so that we can ensure that the item you need is delivered to your selected store in time for your rental use.

As most of our rentals are coordinated from a central location we can have your gear to your local Mike’s Camera location in only a few days but we recommend that you call for availability and extended rental prices ahead of time so that we can be sure that we can provide you with the gear that you need. We offer daily, weekly, and longer term rates for camera and photography rentals. Longer term rentals save you money, and the longer you rent, the better the deal. Please see the rental price list for details.

Weekend rentals (to be picked up on a Friday or Saturday) require a two-day rental at a weekend special rate of 1.5 days. For example, a $30 lens would cost $45 and would be a two-day rental. Friday pickups are due for return on Sunday, and Saturday pickups are due on Monday morning. Whenever possible try to reserve rentals ahead of time.

The Fine Print

Lessee accepts full responsibility for loss or damage to the rental equipment and assumes all costs involved in repairing or replacing said equipment. Insurance coverage is the responsibility of the lessee.

Rental fees are due and payable at the time equipment is picked up.

Two forms of identification are required for rentals. The primary ID must be a current driver's license with photograph, military ID or valid passport. The secondary ID must be a major credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover).

The required rental deposit may be secured on Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover. Cash for the full retail amount of the product rented (fully refundable when rental is returned in agreed upon conditions) is also acceptable. Checks will not be accepted for purposes of the security deposit.Rental deposits are non-refundable.

Mike's Camera, Inc., Professional and Commercial Charge Accounts are always welcome.
