How to View Original Full-Size Pictures & Profile Photos in Instagram

Today, many smartphone cameras can go head-to-head with premium DSLRs. It’s never been easier to capture a stunning work of art to share with your Instagram followers.

Sadly, many Instagram photos often don’t look as high-quality as the originals.

The thing is, Instagram allows the maximum image size of 1080p x 1350p. If your photo is below this size, Instagram will enlarge it automatically. And if the resolution is higher, as it often is, Instagram will compress and resize your photo.

Luckily, there’s a way around this. By following a few simple steps, you can see your Instagram pictures in all their glory.

How to See Instagram Photos in Full Resolution on Mobile and PC

The vast majority of Instagram users browse their feed through the smartphone app. Unfortunately, the native app doesn’t allow you to see full-size pictures. Instead, you’ll have to use your smartphone or desktop browser.

Here are the steps that you need to follow:

  1. Go to Instagram’s website on your mobile or PC browser (any browser will work), and then log in with your credentials.

  2. As you can’t click on a picture directly from your feed, visit the user’s profile, and then open the photo that you want to see.

  3. In the address bar, add media/?size=l (lowercase L) for large size image to the end of the URL. So, change the photo’s original URL from https://www.instagram.com/p/B-KPJLlJ2iJ/ to https://www.instagram.com/p/B-KPJLlJ2iJ/media/?size=l

  4. Hit Enter, and you’ll see the picture in full size.

You can also see the photo in the medium or thumbnail version. To do so, add the following to the end of the photo’s URL:

  1. media/?size=m for medium size
  2. media/?size=t for thumbnail size

And if you like the full-size photo, you can save it by right-clicking anywhere on the picture and choosing “Save Image As…

How to See Full-Size Profile Pictures?

Now that you know how to see your favorite Instagram photos in full size, let’s move on to profile pictures. As you know, Instagram only shows the cropped circular version of profile photos. The native app doesn’t allow you to see the full-size photo. If you tap on the image, you’ll only see the user’s Stories if they have any.

The good news is that there’s a way around this, no matter what platform you’re using.

For PC, Mac, and smartphone browsers, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Instagram’s website from your browser. You don’t have to log in to see the user’s profile picture.

  2. Find the Instagram account that you want to see the full-size profile picture of.

  3. Copy the profile’s username.

  4. Go to thumbtube.com and paste the username into the search field.

  5. Click on Submit, and you’ll see the full-size profile picture.

This tool works for all Instagram accounts, whether private or not. If you don’t get the full-size profile picture, the user initially uploaded the photo in low resolution.

iOS/Android Devices

If you use an iOS or Android device, you can get the Qeeky app from the iOS App Store or Google Play. When you download it, follow the steps below to see full-size profile pictures:

  1. Open Qeeky on your device.

  2. Enter the username of the profile whose picture you want to see in the search field.

  3. Tap on the circular photo to see the full-size image.

Much like the browser solution, the app works for all Instagram accounts. The catch is, the free version only shows you low-quality pictures.

To unlock the high-quality version, you’ll need the paid version of Qeek. At the time of writing, Qeek Pro costs $2.99. If you purchase the pro version, you’ll see the photos in their original size.

Why Does Instagram Reduce Image Size?

Now that you know how to see Instagram photos in full size, it doesn’t hurt to learn a bit about why images get reduced in size in the first place.

The thing is, it’s not Instagram that wants to reduce your image size; Meta (formerly known as Facebook) does. Meta owns both Instagram and WhatsApp, and all three platforms are known for reducing image size and quality. You might’ve noticed that the photos that you send on WhatsApp sometimes look a bit blurry.

Now, there can be a few reasons for this. But the most likely is protecting servers from getting overwhelmed. Millions of photos are shared on Instagram every day. And the majority of users go above and beyond to showcase their photography skills.

Pair this with super-capable smartphone cameras, and you get photos that can be massive in size. That’s a lot of data that Instagram’s servers need to fit it. To ensure that they don’t get overloaded, Instagram limits image size.

While most social media platforms do this, Meta’s compression is much more ruthless than Twitter or Tumbler. As a result, both Instagram and WhatsApp need to keep images smaller-sized.

Still, this doesn’t make many Instagram posts any less stunning. Instagram’s maximum image size is still enough to let you enjoy your favorite posts.

Whether you find an Instagram photo wallpaper-worthy or want to see it in its original size, you now know the process is pretty simple. As for profile photos, the browser method can be your best option. Apps like Qeek generally offer low-quality images for free, so you’ll have to pay to see the high-quality version. Of course, if you find that seeing the entire photo is worth the money, an app can be more convenient and easier to use.

This will open the full size version of the photo. You can also use this method to view the middle version of an image (option media/?size=m ) or thumbnail (option media/?size=t ). Optionally, you can save the image by right-clicking and selecting the option Save image as .

This method works great with Instagram posts, but what about the profile photo?

We looked at several ways to view full size Instagram photos. You can always use these methods to view posts or profile photos in full size.

How to view Instagram photos in full size

Instagram is becoming one of the most popular social media platforms in the world. The Facebook subsidiary is becoming increasingly popular with the younger generation due to its easy-to-use interface and great privacy options.

Despite various outstanding qualities, viewing photos on Instagram is still a cumbersome process. The platform compresses all images at a resolution of 1080 by 1350 pixels, resulting in average quality and uneven cropping. For content creators who share and showcase images on the platform, this can be frustrating because the true quality of their art is being suppressed. If you want to explore the depth and clarity of an image at the highest resolution, here's a guide on how to view Instagram photos at full size.

Method XNUMX: Via Web Browser

Unfortunately, the ability to view Instagram photos in full resolution is only available in browsers, not in the app. For best results, it is recommended that you log into Instagram from a computer browser.

1. Open Browser your account and log in to your Instagram account.

2. Go to Profile in person For the account whose picture you want to see.

3. Select Painting what you want Displayed in high resolution.

4. Now go to the URL bar at the top of the web page and type media /? size = l at the end of the URL.

For example:

If the image URL is https://www.instagram.com/p/CLxY_yIMRDV/

The new URL will be https://www.instagram. com/p/CLxY_yIMRDV/media/ ?

The letter at the end of the URL is a lowercase "L", not a "1" (one).

5. Press Enter and display image full size.

6. Right-click the image and select Save As to download the image to your computer.

7. By using this extension for your URL, you can also find a medium quality image and thumbnail with /? size = m and media /? size = t respectively.

Method XNUMX: using a third party application

In addition to low resolution photos, Instagram does not allow users to see the full size of profile pictures on the platform. Unlike its Facebook counterpart, Instagram profile pictures appear in a small circle on a user's profile and cannot be scaled or enlarged. If you're unsure of a person's identity and can't identify them from their small profile picture, follow these steps to zoom in and view their profile picture in full size.

1. On your smart phone , install "KickFrom Appstore or Play Store.

2. Open App And in the search menu enter Account Name who wants to see the picture his profile.

4. After completing the above step, the app will have two options to either view the full picture after viewing the ad or purchase the premium version. Select any option depending on your preference.0003

5: At the end of the promotional video, you will receive a full size profile picture. In the lower left corner of the screen, you will have the option to save the image. Click on it to save the image to your gallery.

There are websites on the Internet that perform similarly to Qeek, but with much lower success rates. However, if you're feeling confident, you can go for the instadp أو thumb tube, both of which claim to display full-length profile pictures for Instagram accounts. As with Qeek, you can simply enter your account name in the search bar and they will find display images for you.
