This wedding contained two “firsts” for us! We have never done a Disney-themed wedding before – or any wedding with such an elaborately-planned theme at all!!! I’ll be doing a little more talking throughout this post than usual, because I feel I owe it to Eunice to point out ALL the details that she so carefully thought through and executed!!!! The result of her hard work was an incredibly cohesive and FUN wedding for guests!!!! Eunice and Chad gave away prizes for costumes, handed out Mickey Mouse ears, and stage a clever, witty Disney-themed dessert bar, among other things that set guests up for a relaxed, luxurious, transported experience!!!
However, lest their Disney-themed wedding would give you the impression that Eunice and Chad are frivolous, I want to share the other “first” that Susie and I experienced with this wedding. This is the first time I have ever seen a group of guests so moved by the humble, heartfelt words of a groom and bride to one another that they spontaneously erupted in applause!!! It’s true – and I will confess that Chad certainly had me in tears as he shared his heart with Eunice during the ceremony. He explained that during their first conversation about marriage, he had been quite “disagreeable”, and he was sure she left certain that he was not husband material. He said that he went for many long walks after that conversation, and one night, he asked God to make a way, to open a door in some small degree, to make him the man that Eunice would marry. And then he promised Eunice that, by God’s grace, he would be a good and godly husband to her, because she was His greatest gift to her. Susie and I hear a lot of promises, but we hardly hear that type of vulnerability, and it was quite beautiful.
I’m so excited to share images this wonderful couple’s wedding day that I’m going to get right down to it – and only say just ONE more thing: Eunice and Chad, it was an incredible honor to be there last Saturday!!!!! Thank you so much for having us!!!!
Noticed the Tangled-themed invitations, with the Tangled “logo” on the bottom of each!
When you have a wedding dress and TWO costumes to wear… you definitely need a second pair of shoes also!!
Chad’s room faced the atrium of the hotel, which Susie used for some pretty awesome photos!!!
Each of Eunice’s bridesmaids was a nod to a famous Disney character – Belle, Jasmine, Pochahontas, and Tinkerbell (from left to right)!
Eunice ordered the Cinderella carriage from an artist online and Chad took care of draping the greens on it.
Cinderella and Minnie Mouse on the guest list!
Even this adorable little guy was clapping for Chad!!
So very much thought went into these details!!!
At first, Susie and I didn’t even notice the little pumpkins on the Cinderella-themed tables!
The head table was entirely based around the Tangled theme, from hanging lanterns to boat-shaped vessels for the flowers, to the purple and gold theme.
Eunice and Chad also had a cake that was decorated in a most unusual way – with 3D projections!!!!!
The cake also celebrated the Tangled theme.
At some point, Eunice and Chad disappeared and re-entered as Prince Charming and Cinderella!
Some of my favorite pictures from the wedding were of Eunice and her father. Such a sweet, sweet relationship they share.
As did Chad and his mother. She was hugging Eunice and Chad all day long and I never saw her without an enormous smile on her face!!!
I always love the shoe game –
Especially when they talk to each other about their answers!! Haha!!
Those Olaf s’mores…. get out. Just amazing, on every level.
Congratulations, Eunice and Chad!!!!!
