People LOVE weddings. (Almost) everyone is always happy to help a couple create amazing memories. This really played in our favor last Thursday, when we realized that every accessible dock on the Annapolis waterfront was closed down for the boat show. Everyone was playing it cool as we discussed our options, but truly we were at a loss about what to do. As we walked along, I just happened to see a man wearing a very official-looking badge and carrying a walkie-talkie. He was chatting with another woman, whom I assumed was also simply asking for directions. We stopped to ask him if he had *any* ideas at all about how to access the waterfront. No. No ideas… UNTIL…  the Woman and the Official realized that we were with a couple all dressed up and nowhere to go for their waterfront photos!! Immediately, their expressions softened. Turns out the woman I assumed was asking for directions was someone with the authority to get us on a shuttle and over to the Annapolis Yacht Club’s marina. Once there, she said we could take photos and hop on any shuttle for a ride back again! I don’t think the Woman and the Official will ever see this blog, but just in case you’re reading… THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I love that Kim and Mike have gorgeous photos of the waterfront, but even if they didn’t, their “warm-up” photos up in town would still be meaningful! So many BIG moments in their relationship happened right by the Rams Head Tavern, where we started their shoot. It was the first place Kim confessed her love for Mike, and also – where he proposed!! We had a few people walking in and out of the frames for these photos, and it turns out that was authentic also. Apparently as Mike tried to propose to Kim, a toddler kept chasing them down the sidewalk! I keep giggling every time I imagine that scene!

Together, the town and the waterfront made the perfect backdrop for Kim and Mike’s session which was full of laughter and just enough sweet, intimate moments. It was SUPER hard to narrow down my favorites, and in the end – I had to just pick a few. Kim and Mike, we can’t wait to deliver the full gallery and we REALLY can’t wait until next June!!!! It’s going to be an amazing day with even more laughter… and maybe a few tears of joy also. So excited already!!!!
