What Are the Different Types of Camera Straps?
There are different kinds of straps for cameras. You have to decide which one fits your photography style the most.
You should consider the size and weight of your camera and the strap’s length and adjustability. Even your body shape can determine which strap is the most comfortable. And t also depends on how much time you spend taking photos.
In general, there are four kinds of camera straps:
- Neck
- Shoulder
- Two-camera harness
- Hand or wrist straps
Each comes with advantages and disadvantages depending on the kind of photographer you are. For example, a neck strap may weigh you down during long shoots. Or, if you’re shooting with more than one camera, you may need a two-camera harness.
And after you find the best type, you can choose from various brands and their different colors and styles.
Conclusion
It’s not easy to find the best camera strap, as they come in different shapes, sizes, styles, and colors. Plus, people like different materials. Some prefer leather products. Others prefer synthetic fabrics. There is no single recipe for choosing a strap.
It depends on a lot of things. You need different straps if you have a compact, mirrorless, or DSLR camera. A lot depends on what you are photographing. And when you carry two or more cameras, you may need a harness like the HoldFast harness. Or you may have to mix and match.
We hope our tips and recommended products help you more easily choose the best camera strap for you. Choose the Peak Design Slide strap if you want a guaranteed top camera strap! It’s well-designed and adjustable for your needs.

A hand grip camera strap will add a new level of comfort and convenience when using your camera. Most modern cameras have ergonomic bodies that fit nicely in your hand. But if you’re shooting for a long time, even the comfiest camera can cause fatigue.

And there’s less risk of your camera being dropped or knocked. A camera wrist strap is a handy solution to your camera strap problems.

The Camera Wrist Strap, Neck Strap, and Hand Grip Camera Strap Compared
The camera wrist strap is one of the most underrated pieces of photography equipment. Far more photographers opt for a neck strap when shooting. But once you try a hand strap, you may never look back.
A neck strap may seem convenient enough for most photographers. But the more you think about it, the more issues you find. Firstly, there’s the fatigue in your neck. DSLR and mirrorless cameras can be heavy, especially with large lenses attached. We’ve all had the pain in the neck after a long day shooting. Then there’s the rubbing a chafing too.
Camera straps for the neck can also be clumsy and insecure. Neck straps let the camera hang against your body when you’re standing upright. But if you lean forward or turn quickly, the camera can swing and sway. This can cause knocks that can damage your camera. And the camera has a long way to fall if there’s a strap malfunction.
A camera wrist strap has none of these problems. It holds your camera close to your hand, so you’re always in control. The strap combines with the grip of your hand to keep the camera secure. And there’s no uncontrolled swinging to put the camera at risk.
A good wrist strap helps distribute the camera’s weight across the hand and arm. This stops chafing of the wrist and helps avoid fatigue in your hands, wrists, and arms. A camera wrist strap is a safe and secure option for all photographers. And when you find the right hand strap, it could revolutionize your photography practice.

after updating OS X 10. 7 to 10.8, the program stopped working, which before that was quite good at geotagging captured photos. Here we need to make a digression: I was inspired to write this note by more or less "neighboring" material called "How to save money on a camera with GPS." In my case, there is a slightly less perverse approach to obtaining the coordinates of visited places, namely, recording the track with a GPS navigator, while the rest is done using ExifTool. nine0003
Perhaps we can omit getting a digestible track format, because this is hardly comparable to the topic of the note, but geotagging is one of the tasks that ExifTool does wonderfully.

Yes, in this world a lot is bought and sold, including gadgets that can be called "historical". Now we are talking about the Hasselblad 500 camera, which was on the Moon and returned back to Earth, along with the astronauts of the Apollo 15 mission, at 1971 years.
This camera is not the only one that has visited the Earth's satellite, but the only one that has returned to Earth.

Recently habraman mclander thought about the characteristics of the Canon 5D Mark III. And here it is! Very soon the veil of secrecy of this camera will officially open, but for now we will look from under the floor (and see how good the seer sitting in mclander is). nine0003

Smartphones And you may have noticed that the changes that took place in the equipment were quite modest. All attention was paid to software image processing.
And it's true: the impressive improvements in image quality in the new iPhones should be attributed mainly to software improvements. I've spent some time looking into the iPhone 11's image acquisition process, and by the looks of it, this is one of the biggest camera-related improvements in the iPhone 11 lineup.0063

Backup *Data storage *Photo equipment
Posts are periodically written here about how they store and back up their photos - well, just files. In the last such post, I wrote a rather long comment, thought a little and decided to expand it into a post. Moreover, I have somewhat changed the backup method to the cloud, it may be useful to someone. nine0003
Home server where much of the following happens:
What should be kept?
The most important and voluminous for me are photographs. Occasionally video, but very occasionally - it takes up too much space and takes too much time, because I don’t like it too much, I shoot only short videos that lie in the same pile as photos. At the moment, my photo archive occupies about 1.6 terabytes and is growing at about 200 gigabytes per year. Other important things are much less voluminous and with them there are fewer questions in terms of storage and backup, a dozen or two gigabytes can be crammed into a bunch of free or very cheap places, ranging from DVD to flash drives and clouds. nine0063

Popular Science This is Alena, a participant in the experiment. Which dance made the main contribution to it. However, first things first.
Every photographer knows that the slower the shutter speed, the more often (ceteris paribus) images of moving people turn out to be blurry. nine0003
Question: how does the probability of this depend on exposure?
Numerous theoretical considerations are possible in this regard. But theory without experiment is like toast without wine. That is why an experiment was carried out:
- A photographic studio was set up.
- Music is on.
- Alyona is invited.
- Who danced...
- ... while I took photos with a tripod at random times with different exposures, typing a few hundred of them in the end ...
- ... and counting at the end the proportion of clear ones among them.

On August 21, 2016, NASA engineers managed to re-establish contact with the STEREO-B spacecraft, one of the two STEREO (Solar TERrestrial RElations Observatory) to study solar activity.
The STEREO-B observatory last contacted on October 1, 2014, after which contact was lost. For 22 months, NASA specialists tried to save the device - and they still succeeded!

On the left you see a photograph of the Moon taken with a DigiMicro Mobile digital microscope. This is a snapshot of the real moon, not a retaken film or slide. I used a rather unusual solution - I connected a microscope to a telescope. How and why I did this is described in detail in the article Microscope + Telescope =?. nine0003
If you haven't read that article, I recommend viewing it at least diagonally to understand what is happening under the cut. In it, I talked about the principles of operation of a telescope, microscope and the theoretical possibility of combining their optical schemes. Described the manufacture of a telescope-microscope adapter using 3D printing. The first test of the design was carried out during the day, at remote ground facilities. It was not possible to proceed to astronomical observations due to unfavorable weather conditions. Judging by the results of the survey, the idea interested many (406 votes for continuation, 92 against), so I am publishing a continuation with the real Moon under a microscope lens.
Consider this an entertaining experiment with optics and photography, like taking macro shots through a drop of water, rather than a serious guide to astrophotography. For high-quality shooting of the Moon through a telescope, it is better to use a special astrocamera or a SLR with a T-adapter in direct focus.

A year has passed since I bought this camera. More than 2000 shots were taken over 4 seasons in the temperature range from -20 to +40 in all possible conditions: snow, rain, sea, mud, ice, sand, shaking by bike and car, etc. I decided to share my impressions of using this protected “soap box” designed for extreme and harsh conditions. nine0063

In my opinion, the second panorama turned out better than the first one. Less artifacts. Although the author overdid it with the horizon. nine0003
The panorama also contains links to a number of simple, no less high-quality panoramas. A small virtual tour of the city.

As it seemed to me from the comments to this article, there are a number of people among habraphotographers who did not know (or do not know) about the DNG format. In this topic, I will consider this format in relation to RAW. nine0374
Which of these formats is best to use? This is a rather important question you may have already asked yourself. If you haven't heard anything about DNG or have heard only a glimpse without going into details, it doesn't matter. That is why I am writing this post. All interested - welcome under cat.

“Big shot” (Big shot, which can also be literally translated as “Masterpiece”) is a kind of constructor for children, like those that were produced in our childhood, when it was necessary to to assemble a machine on a motor, absolutely stupid and much worse than already assembled and bought in a store whole. But such a decision assumed that the child would receive much richer practical skills, understand how cars are arranged (or watches - there were also such options), after which, having assembled and disassembled his other toys as well (and leaving a bunch of unnecessary details aside), he will understand that life is multifaceted, and just driving a car is not enough to penetrate its essence. nine0003

The positions of historians in evaluating the activities of the KGB are divided into those that are for and those that are against. The collected materials and facts from anonymous sources or from the memories of veterans of the special services can be doubted, because no one has canceled the human factor and subjective judgments. Even a story about the weather last summer from the lips of two people will be different, to say nothing of judgments in the direction of past events classified as secret. Therefore, the purpose of the article is not to give an assessment of the special services, but to consider the technical potential of the KGB in the case of “photo direction”. Photographic work in intelligence has occupied and continues to occupy a special place. In the 14th department of the PSU, there was an active training of officers in the direction of special photography, they received the nickname "fotiki". The interns, performing the simplest assignments - from learning the rules of portrait photography to mastering complex imported camera models - dreamed of career growth and the phrase: "and your employee (the surname was called) is a photographer from God." nine0063

e-commerce management * Photographic equipment
From the sandbox similar resource. There isn't a lot of such information on the net, and I hope that my article will help sort out the obvious, but not obvious problems for photographers, retouchers, designers, and people associated with e-commerce. Also, following all these simple rules can increase the conversion of an online store, because visual content is the main one for perception and one of the main factors in making a purchase decision. nine0003
1. Too processed photos
When processing photos, remember the golden rule: less is more. To get a good image of the product, it is enough to take a picture of it with a properly configured camera in the right light. Do not abuse the power of Photoshop. Over-processing your photos will make your product images look unnatural. And this, in turn, will lead to the fact that your product will be returned more often.
So, one of the most common annoying mistakes is excessively processed skin of models, especially in photographs of products from the Beauty and Health category. When working with the appearance of the skin, it is necessary to preserve its texture, color and shade.

When buying a SLR camera, many put a complete belt on it. With it, the camera is comfortable to wear around the neck, but over time, this strap can cause a lot of problems. What I'm talking about? For example, the camera weighs 1 kg (roughly), the lens is the same, or even more, plus a flash. The working day of a photographer can last more than one hour, and all this stuff needs to be carried around. Not a weak load on the neck, if you run with the camera all day. nine0003
Quite by accident I came across a very interesting alternative, namely a wrist strap, the existence of which I had not suspected before. After searching, I settled on the Nikon Hand Strap II model. This is how this strap looks live:
It's a paradox, but I have a Canon camera, and a Nikon strap. What to do, Canon does not have comfortable wrist straps. Chinese crafts for 2-3 USD were not taken into account initially.
